Today is the last day!

Try this!
Are you tough enough?
So in the next few minutes, I will do my last Max Cardio Conditioning workout of the Insanity program. Can't believe I made it to the end!

I did miss about 3 workouts in the middle when my son was very sick w/ his asthma. However, I've stayed committed & will have this thing completed.

Tomorrow is the final fit test. The beauty of this program (and most) is there are fit tests along the way to show you where you start from and how much you improve toward the middle and at the end. Those are the numbers I've been looking at.

To be honest, I didn't start this with the desire to drop 10 lbs. I did this workout program for a variety of other reasons:
  1. To see if I could even handle it.
  2. To get in the best shape of my life.
  3. Get more definition.
  4. And to "complete" a program.
I've started P90X before...I've started the calendar on TurboFire, but for some reason I could not complete it. Probably because I was not setting myself up to succeed. With Insanity, (which was only 67 days) I did some things different to enhance my chances of finishing:
  1. Got a workout partner. (accountability)
  2. Woke up at dark:30 a.m. to work out. (scheduled workouts/plan to succeed)
  3. Posted up the calendar. (looked at GOAL daily to stay focused/on track)
  4. Logged in my workouts daily. (more accountability/track success)
  5. Shared with people that I was doing it. (more accountability)
My schedule, accountability, and the goals posted
together created a plan of attack to succeed at this!

The end result, my shoulders & biceps have really got more defined (all those push-ups, planks, and drills). And I've kept off 5 lbs. I will confess, I didn't follow the nutrition plan completely. I've eaten healthy, but maybe a bit more than the recommended number of calories. But I am super happy with my results!!!!

This week being the last week of the program, I already have a plan in place. I have 8 days of August left, which is going to be Turbo Fever around here. I'll be honest, I miss working out to Chalene Johnson, she is amazing!!!

Starting Sept. 1 tho' it's on like Donkey Kong. A P90X/TurboFire hybrid!!! If you have a couple of the Beachbody workouts, you can hybrid them together. The website has workout sheets for a schedule of when to do what workout!!! (See bottom of the page to check out TurboFire!!!)

Do you want to start your P90X journey with me???? Order your P90X HERE!!!!

Or cruise thru my site at www.beachbodycoach.com/JenniferMorin to find the one that best fits your need. If you want accountability - I'm here for you!!! Let's complete a program together & then celebrate together!!!

P.S. All workout are 'Risk Free" with $$$-MONEY-BACK Guarantees!!! They are guaranteed to work WHEN you do them according to the plan/schedule!

Challenged Myself!

I swear by to-do lists. There are certain things that must be done by a certain time.

For me, my early, early mornings are for devo time...followed by a workout, preferably to start no later than 5:45 a.m. Once my workout is complete by 6:45ish, I start on my blog, get to my emails, and work on my business. I aim to be done by 8:00/8:30 since this is the time that both boys are awake and their tummies are growling.

This allows me to make appointments at 9:30 a.m. & on.

The problem lies when I don't start my workout on time. Then I run late with the workout, run over into my computer time, which is something that I try to keep within boundaries for the sake of my kids. Kids easily becoming whiny when we're focused on this thing...and then we feel guilty over it all, right? So if I do it all when they are asleep or dad is here for them...life is good!

Here's my challenge...when things don't go as planned - total attitude meltdown!

I premise that all to share that this morning, I tried to start my workout at 6:45 a.m. today. NO BUENO!

My mind is racing over all the things I have on the agenda for the morning with emails & stuff I need to work on! To stay diligent and on time with my goals, I have these 2 hours only in the morning (when the kids are asleep) to do my work - otherwise, it never gets done & I end up not progressing!

When this is all on my mind, I cannot stay focused on the workout. As I'm trying to do power jumps this morning, I'm looking at the clock...you ever watch sand run out on the hour glass-- those last bits of sand put pressure on you...pressure you don't want to feel. This was my thinking: my time for all my a.m. stuff is running out.

The only downfall is that my husband is my workout partner. So of course I'm trying to hang in there & want to continue to work out with him for his sake...but this frustration over not getting done what I need to is nagging at me! So I just stop & go 'to work'! Now, I will fight to fit in my workout later. (Which will be some Turbo, since Chalene Johnson is my hero & will snap me back into the mood I want.)

WE NEED A RESOLUTION!!!
  • The alarms sounds at 5 a.m. - WE BOTH MUST GET UP!!!  No snoozing or dragging butt!
  • We must start our workout by 5:30 a.m. - No running late!
  • We must be done by 6:30 a.m. - No compromising!

See - 1 1/2 mos. ago, I set a goal. As a result, I came up with an action plan of 'pushing play on my business for 90 days'. In this short, but focused amount of time, I can lay a solid foundation for my business!

My obstacles were my lack of time management. So what did I do? I created a schedule to allow myself time to work my business WITHOUT taking from my family.

However, at the same time, I also set goal to complete the Insanity workout program! So, now I have 2 things I have to work on before 8 a.m.

All that to say, this morning did not go as planned, so I am challenged. My attitude is challenged! My mood is challenged! Perhaps writing about it will help me release the frustration. Now I have the challenge to work out sometime today. But I'll do a 30-45 min. Turbo as the kids play or something. It's easier to fit a workout in w/ them up & going, than time on the computer...that's for sure!

Thanks for listening. Do me a favor: Keep me accountable to waking up at 5 a.m. daily! Who commit to doing that for me?

"You gotta make time & you're worth it"

"You gotta make time & you're worth it" - this is a quote from Chalene Johnson at the end of a workout....And this is so true!!!!

My TurboFire 90 day program calls for me 6 days/week. I aim for that, but seriously in the last month & 1/2 of it arriving in the mail, I've completed 6 days - once. The rest of the weeks are sometimes only 4 days, but usually 5. And I don't stress about 'sticking to it to a T'...just because at this point in my life w/ an 18 mos. old & 4 yr. old...it's hard to fit it in 6 days.

If you've just started a workout program - Don't get discouraged this early in game.  You've got to commit to making the time!

Maybe you went from never or hardly ever working out to trying to fit it in 6 days/week. Give yourself a learning curve. Most of you, before now: you were working out only when time allowed. If we leave it up to chance, we will never get to work out. There is always laundry, dishes, toys to clean up, work to do. Really. So you got to plan your day w/ a workout built into your schedule.

If you want to transform your body, look great, and feel wonderful about yourself -
You have to get a new routine that includes your workout in it.

What I've learned for me is that I deserve that little time a day to work out. I am happier when I work out, makes me mentally strong & I feel like I can tackle anything.

What does this mean? A very happy, energized mommy & wife. Really! This 1 hr. (sometimes only 45 min.) makes me feel soooooo good. There's no pill or drink that can give me that feeling of 'I did it!', 'I finished that tough workout!' Right?

The reason why some of you are out of shape and overweight, is simply because you don't make the time. But I'm telling you today - YOU GOTTA MAKE TIME! Period.

See tommorrow's blog for more on this...I'll share on how I make the time. In the meantime, look at your current day, where could you fit in 45 min. - 1 hr. to be healthy?
I start looking great which boosts my self-esteem, and I just feel better.

The Power of a Deadline

I like to talk about practical fitness, health tips on Tuesday. And so today I thought I would share a little about what's going on in my life this week, just to get the point across of my 'Tip for Tuesday'.

Let's rewind to September 2010. I had an 8 month old baby, and was stuck at 145-147 lbs. I looked okay (my husband said I looked great), but I wanted all the baby weight OFF. I was 137 when I got pregnant (after my first son) so why did I need to settle at that 145ish. I wanted my skinny jeans to fit...again.

So I committed to Turbo Kick instructor training the first week of December. Not because my #1 goal was to be a fitness instructor, but I needed a deadline for the weight to be off. And I had one when I registered for the training. Why did this work?

First, I didn't know what to expect, so I worked out hard so that I would have enough stamina to last the day at the training. Second, I wanted to look 'the part' as a Turbo Kick Instructor. Plus, I wanted my form and technique near perfect if not. This meant I did every Turbo Jam dvd that I could get my hands on. And I worked out 5 days/week for 3 months solid, watching what I ate, crazy extreme lean.

The day I left for Laguna Hills, I was 133 - 4 lbs. below my goal weight. I had lost 13 lbs. in that 3 month period of working out 5 days/week & counting my calories. When I returned home from that ONE-day training, I was actually 131.5 lbs.

Now, I didn't quite stay there, that was some intense working out...but it got me to my goal of 'prior to 2nd pregnancy weight'.

Fast forward to June 1st, an opportunity for a deadline came up. So as much as I can with my 2 little ones, the youngest is now 18 mos. and gets into everything or just simply disappears...I have been working out pretty intensely, not quited the: 'never miss a workout' schedule, but I'm fitting in crazy cardio.

I was up to the 136 lb. mark a few weeks ago...and I was so mad. I hate letting the scale tick upward. It can maintain at 134 and I'm fine, but those 2 lbs. are  not welcomed. So what's my deadline now?

A corporate Beachbody Coach training is this week. I just decided on June 3rd, 11 days ago that I wanted to go. My husband said "okay, go & have fun"...and then momma looked at the scale & said, "I've got a mission with a deadline".

Monday, I was 134 on the scale. (Just about 11 days of focus stripped nearly 2 lbs. off.) To get 1 or 2 more lbs. off, I'm trying a little 'restricted regimen' this week. We'll see how that works out. Which, in 1 day....I've dropped 3 lbs. The scale said '131' this morning! UNBELIEVABLE! I swear, if you want proof, I'll take a pic of the scale w/ my feet on it.

But this is exactly what I needed: a deadline to get me focused. It was easy to get focused on this one, avid P90Xers will be everywhere at this training day. I'm praying to meet Chalene Johnson, she's seriously amazing, positive, and encouraging beyond the sweatin' workouts. Looking forward to it for sure. I do look back and wish I hadn't missed the few workouts I could've tried harder to get in. But I'll chalk it up.

Lesson here: Work out hard every day that you can so that when your opportunity to meet fitness celebrities comes up...You're already in the best shape of your life. No crazy, last chance, carb depletion, double sessions to fit in to our already crazy busy days to look our best....Right?

So what can you do? What can you sign up for to push you to work out and get in shape & look your best?

Find something and email me w/ the goal and the deadline and I'll put it on my calendar. Deal?

Workout Wednesday: TURBO JAM

Seriously, I lost all my baby weight + some with this dvd program: Turbo Jam!

I haven't had a gym membership in years. Here's a before and after shot of my gut after my second son:

My postpartum gut - Feb. 2010       My toned up abs - March 2011

Why I love Turbo Jam - it's an intense, all over body, cardio workout. It has carved my abs back out, all while I get my cardio on and burn on avg. 600ish calories. And like Chalene says, the music is phenomenal!

And here's a plus for you: the workouts are less than an hour/day!!!! You can't beat that! If you're ready to try something else, besides the gym - order your Turbo Jam.

The one I used comes with 5 workouts: Learn & Burn, 20 min. Cardio, 40  min. Cardio Party, Ab Jam, and Turbo Sculpt. Click here to order:

When you order with me, I'll be your coach and keep you encouraged to press on and move forward - I will help you get the results! I'm doing my own dvd program at home, so I'm here with you! Let's start transforming that body TODAY!

Working This Out - This Wednesday

I love pairing up words that start w/ the same letter, like 'Workout Wednesdays', or 'Success Story Saturdays'. Weird I know, but it gives me a starting point.

Last Wednesday I featured Chalene Johnson's latest release: TurboFire. I gave the breakdown of what the workout will do and why you would want it in your workout repetoire (check it out). After doing the research about the HIIT workouts, the way it boosts your metabolism, and how effective it is to help drop the weight, I had to have it myself. I ordered it last Thursday & it arrived yesterday:

Do you see the 5-Day Inferno Plan booklet? What is this exactly right? This 5 day plan is an eating and workout plan "designed to cleanse your body and change your daily eaitng habits, so you're ready to take on TurboFire with more energy". It's a great plan to follow M-F, if you have a special event on Saturday. Results always vary, but at the back of the booklet, they feature 4 people who used it. One gal lost 5 lbs. & 8 inches, the other 9 lbs. and 11 inches, and the last gal lost 7 lbs. and 10 inches. The guy lost 14 lbs. & 10 inches. (Can I just say I envy how quickly men can lose weight?)

Pretty much what you see in the pic is what you get in the $119 program. (There's a big daddy one for more that comes w/ 60 min. workouts - I'll purchase the 4 seperate & later to add to my collection. It also comes with a month supply of the P90X recovery drink, which Dave loves, won't live without it.)

The best part about these dvd programs from Beachbody is that they lay it all out of what you need to do. I received a schedule of when to do which workout for the best results. I also got an eating guide to follow so I don't have to do the guess work on what to eat or get bored w/ the same 'ol chicken & broccoli diet. Which, I don't think that crazy restricted regimen offers my body the right kind of fuel for this workout program anyways.

This is so cheesy, but of all I got in my box (the bands are pretty cool too) - I'm excited about the free tank top I get when I send in a before & after pic to them. When they see 'my transformation', I'll get a free tank top (which I love tanks by the way). And better yet...drum roll....I could possibly get a chance to appear in an infomercial.

Okay I know, I said it was cheesy. But if you knew how long I've been doing Turbo Jam, how much I love that program. How I went to get trained to teach Turbo Kick, and how I am hoping to be an instructor. If you knew how much I adore Chalene Johnson because of her amazing character, integrity, motivation, love to help people lose weight, passion to help others change their lives...then you would totally understand how excited I am that that is an actual possibility. And for those who know me, you know I am going to push myself sooooooooooo hard to try to make that possibility a real-life event for myself.

I'm going to kick off my '5 day Inferno' today! I'm not a person that 'waits 'til Monday' to start changing my life. I've done my own observation and I the best time to start something new, a diet, a new program, is the day you decide/receive it/figure out how. Before & afters pics of the Inferno will follow in 5 days. And then before & afters will follow in 90 days. Stay tuned!!!!
